Welcome to
Arrowhead Farm - SEMO
The story behind Arrowhead Farm - SEMO.
In 2020, I lost my beloved pitbull Champ. The day he died I saw the most beautiful highpark calf that was born the same day and that is when my obsession started.
I didn't get that calf, but I did start my highland/highpark adventure. I started building my barn and figuring out fencing. None of which was finished
before I brought my first two highland heifers home.
Since then, I have added to my fold with a total of 7 bovine.
5 cows, 1 bull and 1 steer.
(you can meet them by scrolling down)
My goal is to bring joy to others as these animals have brought joy to me.
Arrowhead Farm-SEMO isn't like other farms. I'm not raising these beautiful animals to get rich. I'm doing it because I enjoy them. I want other families to be able to experience the joy of these grass puppies also. That's why you won't find my babies going to auction. My babies will be sold to a loving family that I get to know through the adoption process. It will be very similar to that of a dog rescue application process. The process will include an application, phone interviews
and live visits. I would like to stay in contact with the families and watch the
babies grow. I will help with any questions or concerns that come up along
the way, and be a mentor to the new families as much as I can.
Please do not apply if you are planning on reselling or using for meat.
This is a completely "outside of the box" concept for selling these much loved
and sought after cows. It is a process that I am still putting together.
The first babies that will be available should be born in May 2024 and then
weaned by November 2024. Keep checking back here to see updates.
Feel free to reach out anytime, I would love to talk with you.

The pictures of my Fold are endless
Kyle is AVAILABLE! He is looking for his furever home and delivery is available. We need to make room for all the babies coming spring of 2025! Sterling, Lola, Luna and Kelce are all pregnant with Flint babies.
The Application Process
Completing this application does not commit you to an adoption. This form provides me with basic information to help determine who my babies would best be suited for. This is only the beginning of our process to assure the best possible match.
The more information you provide, the easier it will be to evaluate your application. All the questions in this questionnaire should be answered, and your email address and phone number must be correct in order for your application to be considered.
Things to consider before getting a cow...
(AKA things I wish I had known)
1. Have you raised cattle before? If not, what made you decide to start?
2. Do you have other cattle now? If not, what made you decide on Highlands/Highpark?
3. What are your plans for your cows? I will only be selling my babies as pets. They will not allowed to be used as a food source.
4. Do you have a relationship with a large animal vet? If you don't, you need to find one and establish one. In many locations they are hard to find.
5. Are your fences secure? This is not just to keep the cows in, but to keep other animals out.
6. Do you have shade and water available in your pasture?
7. How big is your pasture? Two acres per cow is recommended and every cow needs a friend.
8. What is your water source? Standing water can become contaminated and cause health issues.
9. Do you have a good hay source for winter? Planning for winter is a year long task along with its storage.
10. Do you have a way to confine your cows for vet visits , shots etc? This is an essential.
I didn't have all these things in place when I first started but I just want you to think about what you'll need. Raising bovine is not inexpensive and not short term. It's a 20+ year commitment. Did I scare you?
If you said NO, you will love having these lovely animals on your farm.
The Adoption Process
First and foremost this is a new concept! Some of the process is still being worked out and will be adjusted along the way.
Applications will be reviewed, phone interviews will be made and when a good match is made an adoption agreement will be signed and deposits will be taken. The prices of the calves will be lower than the average market price. Prices will vary on the parents and sex of the calf.
Each calf will be weaned between 5-6 months and will be ready for their new home 3-4 weeks after that.
Each calf will be sent to their new homes with the following:
*Vaccinations (determined by my veterinarian)
*Health papers to travel out of state (if needed)
*Hands on socialization preparing them for their new home
